Railway station figures

Figures published recently by the Office of Rail and Road show the following railway station usage estimates in the Isle of Wight area for the reporting period 2014-15.

  • Brading: 50,954 passengers in 2014-15, a significant fall of 4,640 (-8.35%) from 55,594 in 2013-14.
  • Lake: 53,006 passengers in 2014-15, a large decrease of 8,834 (-14.29%) from 61,840 in 2013-14.
  • Ryde Esplanade: 289,574 passengers in 2014-15, a slight fall of 12,086 (-4.01%) from 301,660 in 2013-14.
  • Ryde Pier Head: 218,060 passengers in 2014-15, a slight rise of 8,326 (3.97%) from 209,734 in 2013-14.
  • Ryde St.John’s Road: 184,924 passengers in 2014-15, a significant fall of 17,264 (-8.54%) from 202,188 in 2013-14.
  • Sandown: 203,142 passengers in 2014-15, a considerable decrease of 37,624 (-15.63%) from 240,766 in 2013-14.
  • Shanklin: 294,698 passengers in 2014-15, a significant fall of 23,712 (-7.45%) from 318,410 in 2013-14.
  • Smallbrook Junction: 11,230 passengers in 2014-15, a slight fall of 178 (-1.56%) from 11,408 in 2013-14.
